Fertility disorders in men
Causes, diagnosis and treatment
Causes of fertility problems
Diagnostic options
The diagnosis of fertility disorders should be carried out with a detailed medical history and physical examination by your treating urologist. This should include a sperm quality analysis, in which the number, motility and shape of the sperm are examined. Further diagnostic measures may include hormone analysis, genetic testing and imaging techniques such as ultrasound to detect structural abnormalities.
Treatment approaches
The treatment of fertility disorders depends on the underlying cause. Hormonal imbalances can be corrected with appropriate medication. In the case of anatomical problems, such as varicocele, surgical intervention may be necessary. Lifestyle changes, such as a healthier diet, avoiding alcohol and nicotine and reducing stress, can also improve fertility. In some cases, assisted reproductive technology (ART), such as in vitro fertilization (IVF), may be necessary.
I am available for this with my advice/second opinion and my network of registered doctors and clinics.
