Cancer aftercare (urological)

Individual advice on urological aftercare for cancer - for your long-term health and quality of life.

Consultation/second opinion for the aftercare of urological cancers

Being diagnosed with cancer is a drastic experience for many people. After successful treatment, the important phase of aftercare begins. My colleagues (urologists in private practice) are at your disposal during this sensitive phase.

Regular examinations

Regular examinations are a central pillar of aftercare. These include physical examinations, ultrasound, blood and urine analyses as well as imaging procedures such as CT or MRI. As a result, any changes or new tumor formation can be detected at an early stage and treated in good time. In close consultation with you, we will draw up an individual action plan based on your personal medical history for further treatment by external urologists or clinics.

How often should follow-up examinations take place? (second opinion)

The frequency of follow-up examinations depends on the type of cancer treated and your individual risk. In the first few years after treatment, more frequent check-ups are often required, which can become less frequent over time in consultation with your urologist. Regular monitoring is crucial in order to detect relapses or possible concomitant diseases at an early stage.

Both physical and mental stress often occur after cancer treatment. Symptoms such as fatigue, incontinence or erectile dysfunction are not uncommon. We can advise you on finding suitable solutions to make your everyday life easier. The psychological challenges that can arise after cancer should also be taken into account through further treatment by a specialist. In cooperation with specialized professionals, we can offer you a recommendation.

Long-term care for your health

Follow-up care does not end after a few years. Even if the cancer has been successfully treated, lifelong monitoring often makes sense in order to provide you with optimal care (second opinion). Our practice will support you in the long term and will be on hand to answer any questions you may have - so that you can feel safe.
